![]() The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud comes to digital on December 18. "That is one role that I regret taking…I wish I would have held out and not taken the role because now I feel I've blown my chance to be in the Marvel universe." Not that other Marvel Cinematic Universe actors like Alfre Woodard or Chris Evans hadn't played multiple Marvel roles before. ![]() The actor did have another regret taking up the role of Lucian, a worshiper of Dormammu in Doctor Strange (2016). ![]() Ever since Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool made its proper debut in 2016, fans have. After all, it was my fault," Adkins said with a laugh. Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld wants to see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth together. "I wish Ryan would have called me up for Deadpool 2… You know that bit at the end where he goes back …He could have killed me in the end. British actor Scott Adkins, photo credit: Degtyaryov Andrey /. In Deadpool 2 prior to the credits, the Merc with the Mouth took Cable's ( Josh Brolin) time machine to undo "past wrongs" from saving Vanessa ( Morena Baccarin), killing his 2009 Origins counterpart revealed at the end of the film, and the "actor" himself after picking up a script for Green Lantern. Even X-Men Origins: Wolverine from 2009 fit in neatly as a prequel. The Canadian actor on numerous occasions throughout both films referred to the ill-fated 2009 film and his turn as Hal Jordan in the 2011 CG-laden Green Lantern. From X-Men in 2000 through The Wolverine in 2013, these movies followed a linear timeline. Reynolds, who was able to revitalize his superhero character playing both sides of Deadpool in the 2016 self-titled reboot and its 2018 sequel, addressed his two biggest superhero regrets on more than one occasion, which helped develop a rivalry with Jackman, himself. When they brought me in, and I saw the concept art of the mouth sewn shut and the laser eyes and the claws that pop out…I thought, 'This isn't going to work.' (Laughs)" While the actor wasn't angry, the character did end up losing his head quite literally. "I was fully expecting to see the entire Deadpool costume and all that. It should be appreciated a little bit more."Well, me and Ryan never really interacted on set…When I got the role and went down, I was excited," Adkins said. The Wolverine was fresh, bold and exciting to watch. Some of the slower scenes did drag slightly as well, but if anything it adds to Logan's character development. ![]() The third act does stumble into typical superhero blockbuster territory but that is to be expected, it couldn't stay mature forever I guess. Everything just felt fresh, it's what the franchise really needed. The Viper was memorable enough to be classed as a good villain, maybe not the best choice of actress but it certainly wasn't a bad performance. The combination of modern and traditional Japan was well balanced and did not feel forced. The bullet train scene was damn fun to watch. The action sequences were thrilling and well filmed, I'm thankful that we as an audience are able to see everything and not be plagued with shaky cam or frequent jump cuts. Hiroyuki Sanada gets to wave a sword around, that's bonus points right there. ![]() His physical prowess is ridiculous, clearly you don't want to have an arm wrestle with him.his veiny veins of vein-ness might just pop (seriously though have you seen them!?). James Mangold made Japan look beautiful, it was colourful and modern. Those of you who know me, know that my weakness in films are those that are set in Japan. It's a story about love, forgiveness.and badass swordplay sequences. The dream scenes with Jean Grey highlight how tainted Logan really is, how he struggles to let go of his past. The balance between Logan's haunted past and the Yashida family affairs was perfect. James Mangold had a really easy job, just make it better than the abysmal X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We follow Logan to Japan where he is invited to say farewell to an old friend he once saved, however he is now embroiled in a family where power, money and immortality are at stake. Don't get me wrong, Logan is great but this is far more enjoyable and less soul draining. The Wolverine is easily my favourite solo Wolverine film. ![]()
